Sheriff Tom Gulley founded the original Pulaski County Junior Deputy organization in 1947. With the goal of providing positive role models for local youth and the offer of a healthy environment where many skills can be developed, Sheriff Gulley saw Junior Deputy as an alternative to youngsters who might otherwise fall into trouble. 

Today, with renewed support from the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department and Sheriff Doc Holladay, Junior Deputy is continuing to be the preeminent youth baseball program in the sate and region.

Junior Deputy teams captured 3 of the 5 possible State Championships and the 12 year old team reached the Cal Ripken World Series in Aberdeen, Maryland to compete with the best players in the world.  

Junior Deputy is a completely volunteer organization that receives no public funding. We rely on the community and are a reflection of their commitment to the youth of Central Arkansas.
