Day 7
After an off day the boys got back to baseball and played a very good
Hawaii team, losing 6-0. Congratulations to Zach Marendt for being
named LRJD's MVP of the game.

After the game the boys were all given Cal Ripken autographed
baseballs. Then they hustled down to Camden Yards to watch the
Baltimore Orioles play the Boston Red Sox.

Even though they had a tough time in the games the boys had a great
time here at the World Series. They look forward to sharing with
their LRJD family all of their experiences.

Day 5
The team started the day with a practice and team lunch on the patio
before taking on Washington, the Regional Champion from the Pacific
Northwest. In a see saw game the LRJD team fought hard before coming
up short, losing 8-5.

Blake Schluterman continued his strong play in the World Series by
being named the MVP of the game for LRJD, going 2 for 3, scoring 2
runs and having 2 RBIs. The team will have an off day tomorrow before
finishing pool play against Hawaii on Wednesday, August 15th at 2:30
pm CST.

Day 4
The team started the day with a devotional and then ate a delicious
brunch at a local restaurant that prepared a special menu just for us
- Maryland crab cakes are delicious!! In game action the boys ran
into a buzz saw as the Maryland state champion played a very good
game, winning 7-0. Trey Harris continued his outstanding play and was
named MVP of the game for LRJD.

The boys return to action against the champions of the Pacific
Northwest region tomorrow at 5 pm CST.

Day 3
The boys started the day by joining the parade through town and having
a picnic with all of the teams. As play started, many of the boys got
autographs from Cal Ripken Jr.

The boys were excited to start the game and it showed as they jumped
out to 2-0 lead. The team from Connecticut tied it at 2 until the 4th
when LRJD scored 3 to make it a 5-2 lead. In the bottom half of the
4th the team from New England scored 5 to take a lead and held on to
win 8-5. The boys are disappointed but are hopeful they will bounce
back tomorrow. Connor Cline was named our MVP by going 3 for 3 and
having 3 RBI.

LRJD next plays at 7 central on Sunday, August 12th against Maryland.

Day 2
Day 2 for the LRJD team meant the opening ceremony along with skills
competitions for the boys for infield, outfield, home runs and
running. Special congratulations to Nathan Page for finishing 2nd in
the race around the bases which they called the Golden Spikes
competition, losing to a kid from the Dominican Republic by a few
hundredths of a second. The boys are really anxious to play their
first game and to get going!! They were making lots of friends,
though, especially from Team Canada.

Day 1
Day 1 started for the boys with a meeting at Loftis Field at 5:30 am
where they were picked up by limousine for their ride to the airport.
After traveling through Chicago they were picked up at BWI airport by
Cal Ripken representatives and taken to Under Armour headquarters
where they were given their uniforms as the representatives of the
Southwest Region.

The boys (and parents) are very excited to be here and are very
appreciative of the support we have received from Little Rock and the
JD community.
